Terms of Use

Effective 19 October 2026 · Version 1.5

The short version

  • The Game is free. You can buy digital items, but you never have to: basic food, water, a ball, a rope and a bed are always free, and your pet is never harmed if you don't buy.
  • Digital items are a licence to use them in the Game. They have no money value and can't be exchanged or transferred.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies and the law.
  • “Friends” is kind and safe: no chat, and players are known only by their pets' names.
  • Children play with a parent's consent, and the parent is responsible for purchases and settings.

1.Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Doron Cohen (“we”, “us”) about using TruePets (the “Game”) on any device or version. By downloading, installing or using the Game you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy, which forms part of them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.

2.Who may use the Game

The Game is suitable for all ages. A user under 18 (or the age of majority where they live) may use the Game only with the consent of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on their behalf and is responsible for their use, including purchases.

The Game gives parents tools for this: a grown-up check before every purchase, switching purchases off completely, and requiring approval for each new friend (Settings → Parents). We also recommend the parental controls of your device and app store.

3.Your licence

Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and non-assignable licence to install and use the Game for private, non-commercial purposes on devices you own or control, in line with the usage rules of the store you downloaded it from.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, reverse engineer or decompile the Game or any part of it, or extract its models, images, sounds or code, except to the extent the law expressly allows.

4.Pets in the Game

5.Purchases and digital items

5.1 What you can buy

The Game offers digital items for real money: treats, special food, toys and yard toys, furniture, clothes, collars, beds, kits, a birthday cake, room for another pet and pet hotel stays (“Digital Items”). There is no virtual currency. Each item is bought separately at the price shown in the shop before purchase.

5.2 A licence, not ownership

Buying a Digital Item gives you a limited licence to use it in the Game, not ownership. Digital Items have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed, exchanged, sold or transferred, between users or outside the Game.

5.3 Kinds of items

5.4 Payment

All payments are made through the App Store or Google Play under their terms, currency and taxes. The price that applies is the one shown in the store's purchase sheet. We may change prices and offers from time to time; a change never affects a purchase already completed.

5.5 Cancellation and refunds

Because an item is delivered and available immediately, and subject to applicable law, a completed purchase cannot be cancelled by us. Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their policies: on iPhone at reportaproblem.apple.com, on Android through your Google Play order history. Nothing here limits any non-waivable right you have under the law that applies to you, including consumer protection law.

If you bought an item and did not receive it, first try “Restore purchases” in the shop or in Settings → Parents. If that doesn't help, contact us (section 17).

5.6 Parents and purchases

The stores require their own confirmation for every purchase, and in Settings → Parents you can also switch on a grown-up check before every purchase in the Game. We recommend that parents also turn on the store's purchase controls (Apple's “Ask to Buy”, Google's Family Link). Purchases made from your store account are the responsibility of the account holder.

6.The pet hotel

7.Friends, live meetings and other devices

“Friends” is an optional online feature. It lets friends you approve see your pets, visit at the park, send canned reactions and meet in real time. Its use is also subject to the rules of conduct (section 8).

“Another device” is an optional feature that lets you raise the same pets on several devices using a link code, with no account. The cloud save is described in the Privacy Policy.

8.Rules of conduct

You must not:

If another user's behaviour bothers you, remove or block them on the Friends page, and you can report it to us (section 17). We may limit, suspend or delete a Friends account or content that breaks these rules, with notice where possible.

9.Intellectual property and third-party content

All rights in the Game, including its code, design, characters, models, text, logos and the TruePets name, belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you no right in them other than the licence in section 3.

The Game includes third-party content under open licences such as Creative Commons. Credits appear in the Game under Settings → About, and that content is also subject to its own licences.

If you believe content in the Game infringes your rights, contact us (section 17) and we will look into it promptly.

10.Availability and changes

We keep improving the Game and may add, change or remove features, content, breeds and items. We will do so reasonably and, where possible, keep items you have already bought. Parts of the Game, especially online features such as “Friends”, may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance, faults or reasons beyond our control. If we decide to discontinue the Game or an online feature, we will give advance notice where possible.

11.Liability

The Game is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, suit every device, or that information on the device or in the cloud save will never be lost.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damage, loss of data on the device or in the cloud save, or loss of enjoyment. Our total liability will not exceed the amount you actually paid us in the 12 months before the event.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for personal injury caused by negligence, wilful misconduct, or non-waivable consumer rights.

12.Ending use

You may stop using the Game at any time: delete your Friends data (Settings → Parents → “Delete friends and code”), the cloud save if you linked another device (Settings → Another device → “Delete the cloud save”), and the app. We may end the licence or access to online features if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as 9, 11 and 14) continue to apply.

13.Apple and Google

If you downloaded the Game from Apple's App Store:

  1. These terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the Game and its content.
  2. Your licence is limited to use on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules, including by members of your Family Sharing group.
  3. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the Game.
  4. If the Game fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the Game.
  5. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the Game, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer protection or privacy laws.
  6. If a third party claims that the Game infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
  7. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as “terrorist supporting”, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  8. Our contact details for questions, complaints and claims are in section 17.
  9. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the Game, such as your mobile or internet provider's terms.
  10. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

If you downloaded the Game from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply. Where they conflict with these terms regarding the store and payment, the Google Play terms prevail.

14.Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The competent courts of the Tel Aviv-Jaffa district have exclusive jurisdiction over any matter relating to these terms or the Game. If you are a consumer living outside Israel, this does not deprive you of protection under the mandatory law of your country of residence, or of your right to bring proceedings there.

Before any legal proceeding, please contact us; we will try to resolve any matter amicably.

15.Updates to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always available in the Game (Settings → About) and on this page, with its effective date. We will announce material changes in the Game at least 14 days before they take effect, unless a change is required for legal or safety reasons. Continuing to use the Game afterwards means you accept the updated terms.
